Nursing Assistant Faculty

More complete informations about this job opportunity kindly read the description below. Facilitates instructional activities for Nursing Assistant students in accordance with the curriculum design. Instructional activities will take place in the skills lab and in the clinical setting. Appointment to this position is made in conjunction with the clinical partner and must be approved by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
Required Qualifications:
Registered Nurse in Oregon with a minimum of 2 years full-time work experience. One year of the experience must be work with geriatric clientele. Requires evidence of academic preparation for teaching adults or equivalent teaching experience.

Requires the ability to work with staff and students.
Work is performed in a classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards.
Essential Duties:
Provide instruction to Nursing Assistant students in lab and clinical settings. Provide effective teaching strategies in an environment that encourages student and instructor interaction.
Evaluate ongoing student competency for safety, infection control practices, communication, promotion of respect and dignity, and ot her aspects of providing care.
Facilitate instructional activities of each class.
Facilitate clinical experiences for students in accordance with Oregon State Board of Nursing approved curriculum.
Promote student learning and skills attainment.
Advise students in performance strategies, employment attainment, and continuing education.
Maintain current skills and certifications as required by the Oregon Board of Nursing.
Work as a team member in the Nursing Department.
Attend departmental meetings as appropriate.
Work within the collegeâs mission and goals for education.
Convene learning activities regularly as scheduled and on time.
Coordinate application and testing processes for certification with Oregon State Board of Nursing.
Maintain class records according to college policy and Board of Nursing standards.
Adapt appropriate methods and materials of teaching to m eet the needs of students, consistent with maintenance of quality education and college policy.
Work collaboratively with Nursing Department to meet quality outcomes.
